Dr. Tirkes is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology living in Indianapolis, Indiana. He specializes in MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), CT scan (computerized tomography) and ultrasound imaging of the abdomen.

Dr. Tirkes completed cross-sectional abdominal imaging fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York and internship at the University of Virginia, Roanoke. He attended medical school at the University of Marmara in Istanbul which included an externship at the Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut.

Presently, he is an assistant professor of radiology at The University of Indiana Medical Center in Indianapolis. His job responsibilities in the department include: teaching radiology residents, caring for the patients, doing research and presenting at national conferences. Dr. Tirkes is particularly interested in imaging if the pancreas and adrenal gland.

Dr. Tirkes is married to Margaret Tirkes and has two children. He enjoys soccer, skiing, scuba diving and is connoisseur of fine California Wines.
